It’s cold, dark, and rainy and I’m loving it. This could mean only one thing: autumn is finally here. Here are 10 reasons why introverted bitches like myself love the autumn so much.

Fashion.

I’m 100% convinced that your true fashion style comes alive in autumn times, or with colder weather in general. It’s not that hard to put on the first little dress you see in your closet and call it a summer fashion. The actual art of fashion comes with a purpose to keep you warm first and stylish second.

Layering is a true masterpiece tool of fashion and I believe only when the leaves turn red, you start to appreciate the materials of your clothing. Besides who actually enjoys being sweaty the minute you step outside during the summer?

Comfort.

Fluffy socks, plushy jumpers, or cozy overalls makes me feel so at peace. It feels like I’m a child again and everything is going to be just fine.

Being wrapped in a blanket at the age of 24 has the same energy as waking up early on a Saturday morning when I was 7, taking my duvet from the bed to the living room, wrapping it all around me, and watching cartoons. That’s what autumn feels like. It’s pure comfort.

No rush.

It’s cold and it’s gonna be cold for a long time so why rush? Also where? It’s gonna be the same shit all over again. Going to work at dark and returning at dark. It’s not like you can escape that.

There is a strange peace in a routine that doesn’t take too long.

In summertime, you’re hopping for the best and when it’s not it sucks. At autumn times you’re kinda counting on weather to suck so there are no surprises there.

It also feels like you’re supposed to be chilling at home because who would willingly hang out in such cold and dark weather.

So basically it’s a golden period for all of the introverts because there is no pressure to actually hang out with strangers when you simply don’t want to. The excuses form itself: it’s cold and I’m tired it’s the main theme of the autumn.

Colors.

Orange. Red. Brown. For me the nature feels more alive when it’s changing its color by the day, rather than keeping it green.

It feels like when the trees are moving on and starting again you could too.

Besides the whole autumny color scheme is just incredible.

PSL.

Pumpkin spice latte is the drink of autumn. No arguing there.

Sure you can have pumpkin drinks or foods any other time of the year but does it taste the same? Of course not.

It’s like having a gingerbread in summer. It’s good but doesn’t feel right.

What makes it so special is all of that little stuff around it.

Like being wrapped in a warm scarf with crunchy orange leaves underneath your feet and hair all around the place because of the cold breeze- that’s when the pumpkin spice latte tastes the best.

Netflix and chill.

It’s getting dark so early so you have some extra time to enjoy Netflix in the best conditions. At night time, with bad weather, a cozy blanket, and seasonal snacks.

I swear to god there is no better time to watch endless documentaries than during the fall season. Winter is for rom-com and getting into the mood with Christmas movies but autumn is all about true crime documents.

Sure, most of you have been chilling for the most of this hellish year. But surely you agree, it’s different when you choose to chill, and different when it’s not your choice to chill.

Seasonal snacks.

It’s the end of September and I already devoured like 2 kilograms of tangerines myself. If you thought by now I’m exaggerating to prove my point that autumn is awesome, I’m not. I really mean it. The season of as much tea as you can handle has officially begun. Apples, cinnamon, cloves, caramel, and of course pumpkin in so many varieties it’s mindblowing and mouthwatering. I cannot stress enough how excited I am.

Crispy air.

Air never tasted better than when you wake up in the middle of October and open your windows wide and get that rush of fresh cold air to your warm room.

Sure it’s too much when you’re standing still on a cold rainy bus stop on Monday morning but let’s be honest, most of you will be spending this fall on home offices again so trust me, you’ll appreciate the fresh cold air like no time before.

Sound of rain.

Imagine this: You had a long day at work and you come home super tired. You heat up a pumpkin soup and turn on a Netflix show. After a warm shower, you put on your flannel pajamas, lay down to a cold bed, and tune in to the sound of rain hitting your window. That ladies and gentlemen is my favorite time of the year.

Lights.

I confess I have my Christmas lights on for the whole year because I’m too lazy to take them down every time.

But I start lighting them starting October along with my cute collection of candles. That’s like the main source of light in my home besides the flashing of all of my screens.

If all of these points doesn’t get you hyped about upcoming months then, well I’m really sorry.

I’m super excited for autumn and I’m gonna enjoy every lazy second of it cuz holly hell this year flies by so fast, yet not quickly enough.
