The famous Audrey Hepburn quote “Paris is always a good idea” is the most common photo description of every blogger’s photograph from Paris. I’m no different. It must be right as I keep coming back to Paris for more. This was my 4th time visiting Paris and I know I’m gonna do it again and again. Here is why.

It’s because when you’re in Paris you feel like you made it.

No matter what you’re dealing with at the moment back home, it all seems so small because you’re in grand Paris.

It feels like you have your life together, because how could you not when you can afford Paris. Your thrifty self took a day off because all of the prices are good prices for Paris. Usual rules don’t apply to you here. The city makes you feel rich.

You walk among the french people and you understand squat about what they’re talking about, but somehow you’re thrilled by it. Like, please speak more I like the sound of it. The aspiration and admiration I have for them is substantial.

French people wear the most ridiculously fashionable outfits in the streets, but they wear them with such an enormous dose of sophistication it’s contagious. Suddenly you find yourself with your chin up, shoulders back and confidence radiating out of you like no other time before. You wear yourself proudly when you’re in Paris.

Everything and everyone is much more beautiful in Paris. The surroundings add to the beauty and even the oddest piece of item seems much better and call me randy but people are super attractive standing in the heart of Paris.

All of those old classic movies and novels from old-time Europe promises one thing. True love. You’re in Paris. You’re next.

Even my super cynical aromatic self must admit that it hits differently when someone smiles at you in Paris. Love is in the air. Literally. I don’t know if it’s because of the presence of so many couples in love all around the place or because you let your guard down and you actually seek for it. You expect love so you get love.

You feel like part of a bigger picture when you’re in Paris.

The city breathes history and how can you not get excited when you’re sitting in a coffee shop where Hemingway used to sit and write. Again, it feels like you’re next. Next big artist to fall in love with Paris.

How can you not walk the halls of the Louvre museum and not be humbled by the presence of the beauty and history in the purest form? Once is not enough. Twice is not enough. Hell, I’ve been 4 times and I’m far from done with Louvre. One lifetime is probably not gonna be enough for me.

Paris is always a good idea because I can’t get tired of the sight of the sparkling Eiffel tower no matter how odd the structure itself is. Everything looks much better from up far and the Paris skyline is one of my favorite sights I’ve ever witnessed.

Paris is special because of how little fuck people give there.

Wear whatever. Go running wherever. Eat your lunch in the middle of the fallen leaves. Play chess with your buddies in the gardens. Wake up early and get that photo of sunrise over the Eiffel tower wearing a sundress in December. Walk around the streets in your wedding dress. Feel free.

You can never get bored in the city. Every building, every statue, every person has a story to tell. All you have to do is open up to it and let the Paris affect you in the greatest way possible.

You’re right! You can’t get bored with Paris, however often you visit.

It’s like Rick (Humphrey Bogart) said to Ilsa (Ingrid Bergman) in the 1942 film Casablanca, “We’ll always have Paris.”

I’m the same. It never sets old.

Yes, absolutely true, and your praise of Paris is convincing and generous. My husband and I love the city. I was wondering, why I like Paris better than London, which is also an amazing city, but you said it: “Paris is special because of how little fuck people give there.”
… and Jim Morrison is buried there … among others … 😉

It’s a beautiful city. Was reading about Nantes before, when your post came up. Awhile since I have been there. Any updates on Notre Dame cathedral?

Hmmm. I think I’m more of a Madrid kinda guy.

Omg. I totally concede. I really did feel like I had it going on, pretty much in every neighborhood I walked through. And not a soul could tell me a thing when coming out of the Montmartre apartment we were staying in while there. I felt like a true Parisian. There is a kind of contagion about Paris. I feel almost the same about Italy as a whole, but Paris is definitely special.

I can’t wait to go back to Paris again, and especially explore more of the urban areas. Parisians are so free-spirited, lively and wonderfully direct. As a Brit, it’s refreshing to see because my personality is more in line with Parisian values than British values.
