With a wrap of a Paris Fashion week that went on from 23 February to 5 March, we get to look back at what we witnessed. From brand to brand – common idea reminded the same as it has for the last couple of weeks.
In honor of the late Karl Lagerfeld.
Let me point out one specific designer – THE CHANEL. Even if you are a fashion newbie but you got to admit the Chanel rings some bells.
Every time Chanel puts on a show the expectation is high. This year at Paris Fashion Week Chanel introduced the last collection designed by Karl Lagerfeld before his death.
The catwalk was run down by models like Cara Delevingne, Penelope Cruz, or Kaia Gerber and it was full of emotional moments, including a minute of silence for Karl. The show was held at snowy The Grand Palais in Paris and collection The Chanel Alpine ski chalet was Karl Lagerfeld’s last one for the brand.
A variety of styles and colors were presented in different themes that formed a union of collection we didn’t expect to see.
Karl was a creative director not only for Chanel but for Fendi as well.
Similarly, they shared his last work at Milan Fashion Week sometime earlier. Staring Hadid sisters that closed the show with David Bowie’s Heroes echoing. Must have been a truly chilling and iconic moment. Playing tribute to the late Karl. For his final Fendi collection Karl used geometric shapes, layers in silk and leather with his signature sharp tailoring and double F logo.
Karl’s work could never be forgotten and a legend like him will be truly missed.
“What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.”
