Hey. Let me introduce to you HBO’s original tv show based on a bestseller book written by Gillian Flynn called Sharp Objects.

My roommate who read the book and watched the show before me was bugging me so much to watch it but I just have a hard time starting a new tv show. I just have to be in a mood to focus on something new otherwise I’ll end up watching the same 3 tv shows again and again.

I finally sat down (well lied down) when I was sick and was too tired to do anything else and I put on Sharp objects and oh my god.

It has only 8 around 60 minutes long episodes so I was done with it in just one day.

It’s so good!

There are parts that are really slow and you think “well I’m gonna pull out my phone”. But then a few minutes later you just blink and miss out on something important so you have to rewind back to catch it.

The story is told in a very interesting way that makes you watch the next and next episode, Freaking cliffhangers but that’s what’s making it so interesting.

I keep telling it all the time: the Tv show is good when I’m not on my phone while simultaneously watching it.

Sharp object fits this description cuz I was totally consumed by it.

It’s a story about a mentally ill reporter played by incredible Amy Adams. She’s coming back to her hometown to write a report about young girls going missing and, well, dying. We get to see her traumatic childhood in many great flashbacks that’s just so freaking chilling.

I personally liked the mother in the story played by Patricia Clarks the most. She’s an interesting individual who has her own secrets and discovering them was mind-blowing for me. I don’t want to spoil you anything but let me tell you there are a lot of plot twists.

The whole show ends with one twisted sentence and leaves you a mess.

The ending is different from the book. In the book, it was explained a bit further according to my roommate. But the show leaves it all to your imagination. Meaning that even after you’re done with it you constantly think about how messed up that “spoiler thing that happened” was.

Incredible casting, stunning music and costumes, hard to swallow topics, controversial and nerve-wracking.

Recommending!
10/10
Thank you for your attention

Do you think the tv show is full of psychology? I’m trying to find something worth watching, especially to learn more about trauma

Yes definitely each character has their own tragic backstory and it’s so interesting to see how they deal with it in their own way

I loved the series, watched it not knowing about the book which is a shame. Really messed up and some clever camera work too.

Just so when you think no TV series would ever top that, you hear about one that has the potential too. So many good series are coming up. How are we to take out time for all of them? 😛

I started this series on a flight to London and watched some more on the way home. Then finished it when I was at home. It really was riveting and exceptional!
