Hey. September is halfway through and I have so much news to share. As I mentioned in my August style article I decided to move to Prague and start a new life there and this month I did exactly that.
Me and my long time friend Domc – writer of books section on renegade7x – live together in our first-ever apartment. It’s a newly built building with a small hallway, big pantry, bathroom with bathtub, huge kitchen/living room/domcs bedroom, my room and unbelievably big balcony. I’m sure everyone has their own funny story of their first crappy apartment but unfortunately, this won’t be our case because our home is perfect – better than we could ever dream of. We were so lucky to get it in the first place and I can’t explain it more than simple destiny.
The whole month is full of firsts.
First time we entered our new home, first time we ever signed a contract, first photo we took, first wine we opened, first time we cleaned our apartment, first plant we bought, first time we used dishwasher but had to call my dad how exactly are we supposed to do that, first time we bought dishwasher tablets, first big grocery shopping, first time we had a visitor, first time we had a party, first time we hung pictures on the wall, first timewe broke a wine glass at 1:30 in the morning, first time we lighted christmas light in september ,first time I pierced Domcs ear with a needle and vodka, first time we bought our trash can and put pepe sticker on it, first time we took a bubble bath even though we decided to only have bath once every 2 weeks for water saving purposes (showering suddenly feels different when you pay for your own water) first time we ran out of our internet so we had to sit in Starbucks coffee shop on free wi-fi and write this post, first time we named our plant Edward and put marijuana sticker on it, first time I joined a gym and start working out, first time I went to my new job as a pharmacist assistant and met my new super lovely colleagues, first time I put on my work uniform and realized this is what I’ve been studying for,
first time I spend the whole day in a lab mixing stuff and realized that I actually get paid for that, the first time I got to pay my own bills, set my own insurance, make my own doctors appointment, the first time I ordered home internet, the first time I called my mum who is also a pharmacist assistant and she answered with “hi colleague”, the first time I died my hair in a new apartment, the first time we recycled our trash, first time we saw our neighbors, the first time we bought a shower curtain, the first time we had a girls night out and saw mama mia here we go again and ended up drinking in a bar with a bunch of moms and had really great time, the first time we saw how beautiful sunrise is from our new huge balcony, the first time we light up a bunch of candles and
we’ve been fighting them ever since, the first time we watched Netflix together in our new place until we ran out of internet, the first time we traveled to work together, the first time our friend came to visit and we stayed out the whole night in the city drinking on Vysehrad castle, the first time I met with my high school classmate and we visit this cool antique store and I could not stop staring at old movies posters, the first time my sister came to Prague and helped me move and many many more and the basic fact that I live in Prague with my best friend and work in Prague at a great job is so unbelievable I still feel like this is just a holiday of some sort and sometime soon it will end.
The great thing about being an adult is watching your friends being adults as well.
September is just halfway thought but for me, it feels like a lifetime of someone else life and I’m loving it. I began the great adventure of adult life and so far it’s been an incredible ride.
Glad I have Domc with me on this journey and you guys to share it with.
Thank you for your attention
