Hey. Summer 2016 I’ve spent traveling the east coast of America.
How I got to do that would require a bit of personal background information.
When I was a kid ( 2 years old) my parents won a green cart. If you don’t know what that is – it basically allows you to travel to America for work. So we packed ourselves and go.
My parents got jobs there.
My dad worked in this company with many other Slovak speaking guys and with one of them become very close friends and we lived with them in a mutual house in Highland Park, NJ. We lived there for 3 years and then returned back to Slovakia as I was supposed to start school and my youngest sister was born. ( we also made one stop at Slovakia for my middle sister to be born – so she would get Slovak citizenship) Dad returned to America for a job after we returned and stayed there for a while longer.
My dad, as a great guy he is, found himself some pretty great friends we’re in touch till this day.
He was also very close with his boss Frankie – another great guy. In 2014 Frankie came to Slovakia with our friends to visit the country many of his workers are from. We had a great time showing him around Slovakia. Took him on a hike through the High Tatras that almost killed him but he recalls this adventure to everyone he meets.
As I was one of the very few people who could speak English and have an actual conversation with him I’ve been like a personal translator for him. Even though my dad and grandmother both have American citizenship their English is just way too funny.
Frankie is a very successful boss who works with house rentals and owns a huge amount of houses around the states.
We got so so so lucky as Frankie invited us to spend summer in one of his houses. 2 years later me and my 2 cousins bought flying tickets, got ourselves tourists visas and the greatest summer of our lives started.
First of all we took a road trip by car to Vienna Austria. From there we flew to London Heathrow Airport and from there on to Newark Liberty International Airport NJ. I forgot to mention my grandmother lives there and she was waiting for us at the airport with our friends and they drove us to our first stop.
Over the 5 weeks we spend there we stayed at 7 different places and saw so many incredible things. It would be way too much for me to share everything in one article so I’m gonna divide our experiences by cities we stayed in and each will get its own article.
Here are the cities:
- Highland park
- Avon by the sea
- South river
- New York
- Washington DC
- Philadelphia
- Wildwood
Stay tuned
Thank you for your attention

I like people that like to travel and experience new lands, cultures, people, and when they have a talent and the will to write it all down in a form of travelogue, travel blog or a book what I´m doing right now…
